I have something exciting to share with you all. (well, exciting for me that is)
For the past 10 years I've wanted to have laser eye surgery. A couple of years ago, I had the appointment made to see if I was a candidate for the surgery and then at last minute I cancelled. Yeap, chickened out!
Last Christmas I ran into a friend at a party who had it done. I probably cornered him for about 1 hour asking him every question under the sun. Did it hurt? Did you feel anything? Were you awake? blah blah blah
For days, I couldn't get it out of my mind! I talked to hubby, and asked if he would be o.k. if I "looked" into it". He said "uh... yeah." (I think I half wished he said No so that I could blame it on him for the reason of why I couldn't have it done.) Fast forward to end of April, and still no appointment set and still complaining about spots on my eyeglasses and "I need more contacts, blah, blah, blah." I may or may not have whined alittle. That's when hubby says "are you going to make the appointment or not???" So right there and then I grabbed the phone and made THE appointment.
I've now had my assessment and I AM a candidate AND I have set my surgery date for May 27th.
It's not cheap, but I am soooo excited about getting it done and no longer wearing glasses or contacts.
These are 3D glasses from Disney, not my real eyeglases. ;-) |

I'm looking forward to hearing how your surgery goes, Bette. I have wanted laser eye surgery for so long, but I've always chickened out, too. The thing I always hear from people who have had it done is that they wish they had done it sooner! Good luck. I admire your bravery!
That's exciting!! If I needed glasses/contacts I'd go that route too! I think it would be worth every penny! :)
I had it done in Dec. 2009 and so happy that I got in done. I too was nervous. The first day I was thinking "oh no what have I done" my eyes watered and burned for the couple of days. I would say rest after for 3 days if you can. I love being able to see the alarm clock and tv from my bed. Good luck!
